It’s simple to set up, and fairly accurate depending upon your machine speed. It’s at least accurate enough that you can adjust it once an hour and have a really good idea of where you are at.

Now at least I know that in order to send that Solar Satellite out, it’s going to take me another 10.37 hours to gather enough Crystal, and that in order to research the Combustion Drive I need only wait a mere .69ths of an hour (whatever that translates to)…
